Keiono

Privacy

Last updated 21 August 2026
Keiono controls access to apps. It never looks at what your child does.

We can't read your child's messages. We can't see their photos, their browsing history, their location, or which specific apps they use. That isn't a promise layered on top of a system that could do those things — the app is built so it never receives that information at all.

How that's possible

Keiono is built on Apple's Family Controls framework. When you choose which apps to lock, Apple hands Keiono an opaque token for each one — a meaningless identifier only Apple can interpret. Keiono uses those tokens to apply a lock. We can't turn a token back into an app name. Even we don't know which apps your family picked.

What we collect

WhatWhyPersonal?
Anonymous account ID Created automatically so a device can securely reach its own family's settings. No name, email, or phone number. No
Pairing code A random six-character code like K7QM2P that links a parent's phone to a child's phone. No
Lock state Whether the vault is locked or open, and any schedule you set. No
Device push token An identifier from Apple that lets us wake the child's app to apply a lock while it's closed. No
Anything you email us If you contact support, we have your email and what you wrote. Yes

Keiono includes no analytics or crash-reporting tools. Our providers receive standard technical information such as an IP address in the course of delivering the service, as any internet service does.

What we never collect

We don't sell information. We don't share it with data brokers or advertisers. We don't use it for advertising.

Children's privacy

Keiono is designed for parents to use, and part of it runs on a child's device. From that device we receive only the anonymous account ID, the pairing code, the lock state, and the push token described above. We don't knowingly collect a child's name, email address, photograph, location, or anything they create.

Parents control the setup and can delete everything at any time. If you believe we've received information from a child beyond what's described here, email us and we'll delete it.

Payments

Subscriptions are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. Apple processes the payment and stores the payment method. Keiono never sees or stores your card details. We receive only the fact that a subscription is active.

Who processes information for us

These providers process information on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments. Neither receives information for their own marketing.

How long we keep it

Lock state and pairing information are kept while your family is using Keiono. Delete the app from both phones, or email us, and we'll delete the family's record.

Your choices

Depending on where you live you may have further rights — for example under GDPR or the CCPA — to access, correct, or delete information, or to object to its processing. Email us and we'll honour those requests.

Changes to this policy

If we change what Keiono collects, we'll update this page and the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll tell you in the app.
